Boulder's 150th birthday this year got me thinking: Is there anything in town that has actually been around that long?
Elizabeth Black, who is putting together "The Ditch Project" as part of Boulder's sesquicentennial celebration, confirmed my suspicion. Irrigation ditches are not only the oldest remaining human structures in the city of Boulder, but ditch companies are also the oldest continuously operating companies.
